Upgrades to SLA Online
Frontline Data, our software development partners, have recently made some changes to SLA Online, these are particularly visible in the Training area. Very soon we will be making further changes which will affect all users. Ahead of this I will provide a guide showing what the changes are, how they affect your school/service, and any changes to your responsibilities. To help users with these changes, Frontline Data have also published several more "How to.." guides in the Knowledge Base. This is a really good place to find out more about SLA Online and its potential. To access the Knowledge Base, click on the question mark at the top right hand corner of the screen.
New! Medway Family Information Service Directory and Website
The Medway Family Information Service (FIS) forms part of the Early Years Sufficiency Team (EYST), led by the programme lead Deborah Allcorn.
The EYST secured a bid from the Department for Education to replace the old FIS system with a new FIS Website and Family Information Service online Directory.
The Family Information Service Directory can be accessed online 24 hours a day. It offers information that supports family life and enables searches including:
· Childcare - Choices in childcare and guidance
· Family Hubs - Venues, activities and services
· Health and Well-being - Services available and guidance
· Schools and Learning - Education across all age ranges and how to apply
· Local activities - Activities for all ages available locally
Send Local Offer:
The SEND local offer was previously a directory of services held under the Family Information Service but now this has been separated to become a standalone SEND Directory with a separate webpage. Families will still be able to link to the SEND Local Offer through the FIS.
Take a look at the new Medway Family Information Service Website and Directory. Medwayfis.com
If you would like a service added to the Directory please contact Gilly Gay on 01634 338676 or 332195
Submitting KS2 data on NCA tools
The DfE has published instructions on submitting Key stage 2 data in 2019 on NCA tools:
The deadline for submitting data is Thursday 27th June but teacher assessment can be submitted earlier than this date. If you are receiving an external monitoring visit, data can only be uploaded after the visit has happened.
Check administration guidance for the multiplication tables check
DfE has published 'Check administration guidance for the multiplication tables check (MTC) 2019 national voluntary pilot.'
The administration guidance provides details on:
how to use the MTC system (including the pupil ‘try it out’ area)
how to administer the MTC
how to use pupil access and other check arrangements
The MTC system guidance includes instructions and screenshots to help administrators use the MTC system, and should be used alongside the MTC administration guidance.
The guidance is for schools that are participating in the June 2019 pilot and wish to access the system before this.
