Instructions for school business managers and finance officers to set up school staff so that they can access 'Groups' AKA School Forums.
Also attached is a guide to access the resources section on SLA Online (page 2 of guide to accessing forums)
Upgrades to SLA Online
Frontline Data, our software development partners, have recently made some changes to SLA Online, these are particularly visible in the Training area. Very soon we will be making further changes which will affect all users. Ahead of this I will provide a guide showing what the changes are, how they affect your school/service, and any changes to your responsibilities. To help users with these changes, Frontline Data have also published several more "How to.." guides in the Knowledge Base. This is a really good place to find out more about SLA Online and its potential. To access the Knowledge Base, click on the question mark at the top right hand corner of the screen.
School trips and residential breaks
Please be aware that cancellation fees caused by Covid 19 in respect of school trips and residential breaks will not now be covered by the Council. For trips booked prior to Covid 19 and subsequently cancelled and unable to obtain a refund from organisers, then the Council will still be in a position to cover these costs under the policy
Any queries please contact Gary Thomas firstname.lastname@example.org
NQTs Starting September 2020 and Covid-19
NQTs starting induction in September will need to be registered with the Appropriate Body as normal.
Two documents are attached to this communication:
1) An NQT Planner that tutors may wish to use for the first few weeks of Induction and includes sections for the last term of the NQT's training and considerations needed when they start induction given Covid-19.
This document will also be attached to the email confirming registration and is in Word format to enable content to be adapted, removed and added as appropriate.
2) A list of suggestions on managing the start of induction during Covid-19. Tutors are asked to consider the points raised in the document, they are not compulsory. The list is not exhaustive and tutors are asked to share any other ideas they have, especially on ways of monitoring progress and suggestions for sources of evidence. Please email ideas to email@example.com so the document can be updated and re-circulated.
Wherever possible, you may want to consider introducing some aspects of induction to the NQT as soon as possible rather than waiting for September.
Any guidance that the DfE/TRA might publish regarding NQT induction from September, will be circulated to tutors who have registered NQTs and included on Education Services Medway communications.
Reception Baseline Assessment - September 2020
On Friday 26th June, DfE announced that the statutory introduction of the Reception Baseline Assessment has been postponed until September 2021.
Instead schools have the opportunity to sign up for the RBA Early Adopter year so schools can familiarise themselves with the materials. The attachment contains more detail about how to register, when the assessment will be administered and data collection.
DEADLINE for registering: 24th July 2020 Schools can opt out from administering the assessments even if they have registered.
