This one-day course is aimed at anyone who is involved in preparing and serving food to the general public, such as:

  • school meals;
  • breakfast;
  • after school clubs

The course covers basic food hygiene and consists of:

  • introduction to food safety;
  • food safety hazards;
  • principles of safe food storage;
  • cooking;
  • cleaning

Assessment - multiple choice examination
CIEH Accredited
Refresher recommended every 3 years

Outcomes

  • Firm grasp of the importance of food safety and knowledge of the systems, techniques and procedures involved;

  • Understanding of how to control food safety risks (personal hygiene, food storage, cooking and handeling);

  • Confidence and expertise to safely deliver quality food to customers
